Jaguars New Uniforms

But the uniforms sure are cleaner than the overly busy old uniforms, this was accomplished largely by removing the golden color to where it belongs: The iconic growling Jaguar head. Smartly, the familiar logo, teal tongue and all, was not messed with.

The Jaguars say they want their new uniforms to be timeless and clean.

The timeless we’re not as sure about. After all, these new sparkly helmets may look awesome under the stadium lights, but they don’t exactly say "im a classic".

This means there is no gold on the numbers or in the Jaguars’ names. No gold strip in the stripe in the football pants. And say goodbye to the stalking Jaguar on each sleeve. And not a minute too soon: From more than a few feet away, it looked like a mushy indistinct golden blotch in the uniforms.

Some people may complain that it’s boring to make the Jaguars uniforms like this, but what cannot be denied is that the new look is cleaner and much more elegant. Yes, that can be a good thing in a football uniform.

Another smart move: It’s teal jerseys and white pants for home games with the uniforms, a classic Jaguar football nfl combination. And it’s white home football jerseys and black pants for away games, for sure better looking jersies than the boring all-white looking uniforms of the past. Jaguars new uniforms are really nice looking

That’s all you’re going to get with the Jaguars new uniforms, by the way: The all-black uniforms that showed up a few times the last few years are extinguished. Owner Wayne Weaver flatly ruled these football jersies out.

Teal Jaguar jerseys — the color stays the same as last year, Reebok says — have a simple combination of white numbers and football players' names, outlined with black on the jersies. The white jerseys have black numbers and numbers and names, outlined with teal, though the teal is so skinny that the numbers appear all black (a striking look that is, yes, clean). The numbers are more block appearing than the most recent Jaguar uniforms.

New Jaguar football jerseys do not have the stripes near the bottom of the Jaguars new uniforms sleeve, and neither has a contrasting color around the neck. A small “Jacksonville” and a small “Jaguars” under it are put below the neck. There’s a small amount of gold around the “Jaguars” but you cant hardly see it on the new Jerseys. Very simple.

Some swoopy lines are repeated on the black and white pants of the Jaguars new uniforms, replacing the more conventional stripes that were on the old white pants. (The snarling Jaguar logo is also on each set of pants, on the upper right leg.

nfl football jerseys are made from a cloth that’s supposedly 30 percent less heavy than the old nfl jersy uniform material, and they’re more formfitting as well for the football players and the Jaguars most specifically. That hopefully makes them more difficult for opposing football teams to yank on the new Jaguar jersies.

A noticeable difference is the two swooping lines — a Reebok rep called them “thick piping” — that go from the front of the Jaguar jersey, under the arms and around the back to just another the numbers, without meeting. Think of the Denver Broncos look, though not so wide a swath.

A trick touch is the new helmet. It keeps the basic look the team has had on the Jaguars new uniforms since the first season, but we’re told there are currently “micron-sized flakes” of “chromatic pigment” on the helmet and face mask that makes the color change under different light — from black to hints of teal. We’re not sure if that’s a look that tough football players should be fooling around with. But for better or worse, it will be the Jaguars’ alone. No one else is doing it.

This “thick piping” is the uniform’s biggest departure from the traditional NFL look. Some will dislike it, but it’ll likely grow on you before too long: The Jaguars are only 15 years old, and to adopt a totally retro-looking uniform would feel a bit odd.
